Highly Sensitive Bilirubin Biosensor Based on Photonic Crystal Fiber in Terahertz Region

An unstable bilirubin level in the human blood causes many dangerous health problems, such as jaundice, coronary artery disease, ulcerative colitis, and brain lesions. Therefore, accurate early detection of concentrations is mandatory. In this work, a highly sensitive biosensor based on photonic crystal fiber (PCF) for monitoring levels proposed analyzed. The sensor parameters, including relative sensitivity, effective mode area, confinement loss, material are calculated. geometrical parameters studied, modal analysis suggested carried out using full-vectorial finite element method (FEM). fabrication tolerance also studied to ensure feasibility reported design. High sensitivities 95% 98% obtained x-polarized y-polarized modes, respectively. Furthermore, small loss 0.00193 cm−1, 2.03 × 10−14 dB/cm, large area 0.046 mm2 achieved mode. It believed that presented will be helpful care blood.
